Chapel
All students and teachers are encouraged to set apart time daily to seek God and find guidance and renewal in Him. In a Christian school, with the pressures and demands of academics, athletics and other co-curricular activities, there is the ongoing danger of studying about God without really knowing Him. The challenge of the Psalmist to, “Be still and know that I am God,” is a reminder of the importance of regularly taking time to reflect personally upon Him.
Chapel represents a critical dimension of the educational experience at David Lipscomb Campus School. By devoting time to a chapel program, the school is emphasizing the value it places on spiritual development, corporate worship and community. In addition, the chapel programs provide a variety of opportunities for the entire school community to benefit from teaching, which integrates faith and learning as students watch their academic teachers plan and participate in chapel.
Chapel meets daily for all of our students in the middle and high schools. At our elementary school, students attend chapel at least once a week in addition to daily worship opportunities integrated into the classroom. We use our teachers, university professors, local ministers and special guests as speakers in chapel. Regular attendance is required of all students.
